Oil and Stress:

Good Morning Middle America, welcome to your King of Simple News Network, for all the news, that is news, from around the country. “Mostly” real news, the way it should be told.

OIL AND STRESS are in the news today, as both rise out of control. Oil, Texas “T”, black gold, and dang expensive. Reports that America is addicted to oil can be found about anywhere you want to look. America is also addicted to food, shelter and clothing. What a bunch of pansies.

The good news is, that the addiction to oil is an easy habit to break. Simply sell your car, quit heating your home, don’t purchase items made of plastic or rubber, and Sha-Zam, the habit is broken.

It would also help if we stopped eating. It takes a lot of fuel to run farm equipment and even more to process and deliver the food. Not to mention heating the grocery store.

In other news, a new report finds that 1/3 of the population of the U.S. are more stressed than ever. The remaining two thirds work for the government and provide the stress.

Three-fourths of those interviewed said that work pressure and financial problems were at the root of the problem (OH MY GOSH, who would have ever imagined?). The other stressed-out quarter said they were raising at least on teen-ager. Two others said that their mother-in-law had moved in with them.

One person, who wishes to remain nameless, said, “After purchasing our new $400,000 home with nothing down and interest only payments, and combined with our two new SUV payments, this has left us very little money for our cell phone bills.”

Government officials are on these problems like white on rice. A new loan program will make it possible for any family making under a million dollars per year to qualify for the “Petroleum Payment Plan, which will be an add-on to the popular “Hamburger Payment Plan.”

Okay, there’s big trouble in River City. So here it is from the King of Simple with the help on my patented Mikeronomics. Oil, groceries, autos, tires, homes, dairy products, clothing, medical treatment, drugs, taxes and dog food are going up like a heat seeking missile. Wages aren’t.

Why aren’t wages going up? The Chinese, Koreans, East Indians, Malaysians, Mexicans and several other countries that I can’t spell are willing to work REAL CHEAP. And, U.S. Big Business is more than willing to let them. Programs like NAFTA, the WTO, and others that I can’t spell, allow direct access to American markets.

But there is a logical and simple solution. All the American worker has to do is produce 930% more product per hour than a Chinese worker, and we’re back in business. Stress; what stress?

Wake up America, the coffees nearly gone.

Yes it is a mess. And what really frustrates me, is the simple fact that most (close to all) Americans are willing to keep voting the same way they have for the past 40 years to keep receiving the same mess (increased debt, less freedom, higher taxes, inflation, etc) they have been getting because they are just too lazy to research the candidates running for office (they say I recognize that one, they are my party and they are on the TV all the time, they must be good).

There are a couple of candidates running for president this time who may be acceptable; they are not the ones you see on the news every night however. The only one to date who is running for the American people (not the democrats or republicans or the independants) is Ron Paul. Check it out http://www.ronpaul2008.com/. He actually has a congressional record solidly documenting this. And here is the one person who could REALLY HELP us work our way out of the mess the previous politicians have helped us into and no one even knows his name (laziness? ignorance? or just plain stupid?) Go figure.

If this election continues on as it is at this stage, I will give up all hope for our country remaining a free place to live and prosper.

As I was driving home tonight listening to radio, the conversation was directly out of my book.

Middle America is being cast aside in lieu of cheap foreign labor. And which one of the top candidates in addressing this terrible situation; no one.

I agree that we must have a change in leadership, or stick a fork in Middle America, they’re done!

We’ll take this up again tomorrow. It’s important, very important.
