Blame Bush; Everyone Else Is!

Good Morning Middle America, your King of Simple News is on the air:

U.S. NEWS: As the ten year campaign for president drags on, the candidates are throwing out the reasons for America being in the tough shape that we find ourselves in.

I should say, throwing out the reason: George Bush. George Bush is solely responsible for the price of oil being so high, the debt being so high, food costs being so high, autos being so high, and apparently for most Americans being so high on something, that they believe the candidates claims of personal innocence.

I don’t really think Americans are high, I think they are low, low on knowledge of just how our government works. I admit, the study of government rates right up there with the study of tree bark, but it’s important to understand the basics.

I’ll abbreviate the boring lecture regarding the founding of our system and get right down to the meat and potatoes. We have 540 members of Congress who have a job, okay, maybe not job, but they do get paid. They are supposed to be looking out for you and me.

The House of Representatives says it all in the name, “Representatives.” The idea here was that all of these guys and gals who were elected to the “House” by the good citizens, were supposed to “represent” all of the people equally, not just all of the people with money.

There are rules to the game of government that came in the original box along with the game pieces. Our representatives seem to have lost these rules, but fortunately we have a copy in a framed display that is heavily guarded. It’s called the Constitution of the United States of America. There are a couple of accompanying rule sheets called, The Bill of Rights and The Declaration of Independence that are also framed and guarded.

If the people that we sent to Congress actually read the rules, they would understand that the President can’t do a darn thing without their consent. That was in fact, the whole idea. We weren’t electing a dictator we were electing a President. And, if he did try and pull a shenanigan, the 540 members of Congress are charged with resisting such ill conceived action with great vigor.

They also have the charge of reporting such attempts by the president (or anyone else for that matter) to the boss; that would be us by the way. Doing so gets them atta-boys and girls which helps their re-election campaign.

Now some of the people who have been on the 10 year-death-march-presidential campaign are secretly current members of Congress. These are the same ones who say George Bush is responsible for all that is wrong in the world including Green Bay losing their playoff game. I don’t want to mention any names, but their initials are Hillary Rodham Clinton, John McCain and Barrack Obama.

So where have these current members of Congress been when the bad ideas were trotted out and the voting took place; on bathroom break?

Wake up Middle America, the foxes are running for chicken house guards.

Hey Mike! To make our “candidates” look even worse those that are in the Congress have basically vacated their post as they rome all over this country campaigning for office. I think that if they miss a certain number of days of Congressional activity they need to be removed from office for dereliction of duty.
We can blame quite a bit on Bush/Cheney but as you point out they have had a great deal of help along the way. Clinton was impeached for 1 lie, but Bush has been officially credited with 935 lies and Congress sits idlely bye. I figure that Pelosi and friends refuse to put impeachment on the table due to what they have been getting under the table. The truth has taken a terrible beating in DC and it is bound to get even worse with the election campaign underway. Everyday we get bombarded with lies, half-truths, and the false innuendos of advertising that is supposedly monitored by the FCC and other government entities. We have become a society that has been so desensitized to lies that the majority of us take no notice of any deception by anyone. Supposed religious representatives break almost all of their religions rules by lieing and deceit but no one notices. And these numb citizens are the hope of America if we can ever wake them up. Americans are numbed and dumbed and I am bumbed. Have a good one Mike!

Numbed, dumbed and bumbed fits the situation nicely. We have come to expect nothing of our leaders and they deliver just that.

I’m not sure that cleaning house does any good. The Republicans didn’t come through and now the Democrats are no better. It must be the water in Washington D.C.,

Local newspaper article:

“On Friday, the day after President George W. Bush and lawmakers announced a $150 billion economic stimulus package, the first customer to walk in the door was talking about how to spend that check.”

“Spend Money to Make Money” ? ? ?

Hell the USofA should be able to pay off all our debits to France, Japan, Germany…….lets see, who else’s wars have we gotten into that we own compensation?
