Explosive Dust:

Good Morning Middle America, your King of Simple News is on the air.

“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress, but then I repeat myself.” ─ Mark Twain.

We have a fuel crisis in America and our President, one George “Badlands” Bush, along with our illustrious Congress believe the way out of that little conundrum, is to burn up our food supply as ethanol.

The next problem that they are going tackle is a food shortage that has materialized out of nowhere. Say what?

Years ago I wrote in a column that suggested that we needed farmers rather than lawyers in Congress for two reasons. One, they could provide the chickens necessary to give Congress the cue as to when to come in out of the rain, and two, we could speed up the decision making process.

Ya see, farmers don’t have all day to sit around wasting time. They would sit down at breakfast, apply some common sense, make rational decisions, and get back out in their fields by mid morning. Otherwise, those idiots in Washington would starve to death.

But we don’t send farmers to Washington, we send educated idiots that have been schooled in the beliefs of others and who have never had an original thought in their lives.

Want proof? We have a recession on our hands. Unemployment is skyrocketing, jobs are leaving the country in droves, housing has taken a ten count, the airlines are folding like cheap lawn chairs, and guess what the subject of discussion is in Congress today? Explosive dust.

You think I’m making that up don’t you? Well I’m not; our entire Congress, at least the ones who attend and aren’t sleeping, will listen to a dissertation that centers around the hazards of explosive dust that has occurred in some processing operations.

I can’t think of a subject more important at this point and time, or one that Congress would be more of an expert on. These people aren’t experts on coming in out of the rain without the chickens as a cue…let alone explosive dust. Is OSHA on vacation or something?

One of my readers sent me a nice note yesterday and mentioned that they are grain farmers in rural Iowa “clinging to our guns and Bibles.” I thought about that and concluded that if everyone were doing the same…America would be safe and well fed.

So what do you say; how about we send farmers and ranchers to Congress and send Congress to an explosive dust environment to give them a better handle on the subject?

Hey Mike, When I lived in Oklahoma we sent a farmer to Congress. Henry Bellmon. He was the first Republican govenor and Senator from that state. He was also the best we had ever had. I think he made it through 2 terms before he had had enough of the stupidity that rules in DC. If we send farmers or any other group worthy of our support we need to send enough of them to keep them sane and in power. If we cannot find enough farmers we should send in demolition crews to pack DC up and send it overseas so they can be close to our jobs. Then if they want to come back they will have to bring our jobs back with them. My own wonderful Senatress sent me a video in her weekly email that showed her addressing a committee that controls the VA.. Four minutes of the less than 5 minute long video was her kissing the members rears. Over and over she would say that she could not thank them enough and she was so happy to be speaking to them. I had to go out and get some fresh air to keep from puking. I think these lawyers must be taught this bull in school since they all sound alike. You have your self a nice day Mike!

Hi Mike,

What is it about Washington that subtracts about 30 IQ points from anyone who is elected to go there? I’ve wondered if there was some substance being sprayed into the air in the Congressional office buildings that lulled the senators and representatives into a kind of euphoric state of privileged stupidness. Or, maybe there’s something in the bottled water delivered to their offices.

Whatever it is, they treat the citizenry like we are morons who don’t know what’s going on. It’s not only insulting, it’s made us lose any respect that we might have had for the institutions of democracy. In my opinion, this is a terrible crime.

Kathy,

I watched Glen Beck the other night and while I don’t agree with many of his espousals, he did tell a federal Senator that Americans aren’t going to put up with Congress much longer.

The Senator of course did the Beltway Two Step around the real point.

What I realized is that I had never heard anyone flat tell on these gals or guys that America has had it. I hope that he is correct.

As far as why Congress insults us each and every day…they live a life of privilege that is beyond the scope of most Americans to comprehend.

Doing so over any period of time gives them both a cavalier demeanor and the feeling of superiority over the common people.

Term limits and campaign finance overhaul must come into play. We just aren’t quite mad enough to demand these things at this point.

Unsound economical policies, (uncontrolled exponential growth) tied in with the inflation tax is what is creating the problems you suggest above and many more.

How many of the presendential candidates are talking about these problems and resolutions to them. In fact how many congressmen (women) are even thinking about anything in particular other than the next pay check?

Only one that I know that has been on our side ( I am talking about America when I say our side) is Ron Paul. I attached another of his comments below. Another blind vote for the 3 stooges left in the pot of soup will be another bullet hole in your canteen; and it is getting hot out here on the desert!!! -bb

by Ron Paul - “Today, the federal government burdens us with one of the most dangerous taxes it can impose — the inflation tax. When the federal government finds that it cannot afford its out-of-control spending, and is unwilling to directly tax the public, it resorts simply to creating the money out of thin air.

Inflating the money supply is the easiest form of financing the government. The Federal Reserve, an unelected and unaccountable private organization, pumps more dollars into the economy whenever it chooses. Because the public is forced to accept these bills, the Fed essentially gets away with legally counterfeiting. We cannot possibly expect the government to control spending when it has a blank checkbook.

This greatly benefits the politicians and special interests — they are able to finance the massive welfare-warfare state. But how does this inflation affect you?

Basic economics tells us that the more there is of a good, the less valuable it becomes. This is also true of money. The dollar is worth four cents of what it was when the Federal Reserve was created in 1913.

Day by day, every dollar you have is being devalued. You pay an inflation tax without even realizing it because you are forced by a falling dollar to pay more for goods and services.

The disastrous fiscal policies of our own government, marked by shameless deficit spending and Federal Reserve currency devaluation, are some of the greatest threats facing our nation today. It is this one-two punch — Congress spending more than it can tax or borrow, and the Treasury printing money to make up the difference — that threatens to impoverish us by further destroying the value of our dollars.

By legalizing competing currencies, we can end the Federal Reserve’s stranglehold on our money supply and begin to restore value to the dollar. But Congress will continue to spend extravagantly until we the people make our views known at the ballot box.”

BB,

I was doing some thinking today, which is always dangerous. The inflation tax on fuel alone (created by the weak dollar), is capable of changing the face of America.

We live, eat, and breath fuel. The price isn’t going down, the remainder of the world won’t let it.

Our own government and their total irresponsibility is destroying the Middle Class.

I have a good article for Monday.
