I’m Sick and Tired of Losing;
Good Morning
As I have watched this whole hideous nightmare of a presidential campaign unfold, I realize how hopeless it is to expect meaningful change from our cur
The continuation of a strong
What I realized this past week more than anything else is that I’m sick and tired of the whole charade. I’m sick and tired of waiting. I’m sick and tired of broken promises, poor leadership, non-existent planning and being pandered to.
I’m sick and tired of watching politicians lead a life of implausible leisure and privilege while those who they represent sink into a recession of indefinite depths.
I’m sick and tired of watching our leaders travel first class with limo service and private jets, while those who they represent can no longer afford food and fuel.
I’m sick and tired of our leaders having world class health care provided partially by the labor and taxes of 50 million Americans who have none.
As I watch a Republican President and Vice President preside over a majority Democratic Congress, with few exceptions, I see losers all and failures of the highest level.
Yet three of these profound and demonstrated underachievers are running for President of the
Our country is in crisis. Our jobs are being shipped abroad, our borders leak like sieves, we have an endless war raging, inflation on food and fuel is crippling our families, Americans are losing their homes in record numbers, the world has food shortages and our leaders spend their time arguing like child
When I see the boat sinking, I want to see everyone bailing, not out running a senseless multi billion dollar campaign of lies. If these candidates are leaders and have the ability to bring us together and influence positive change; then why the hell don’t they go do it?
All three presidential front runners are cur
But then, they have shown us their stuff and I’m sick and tired of it.
Why doesn’t one of these presidential candidates go back to
But see, if any one of them did so, that person would have to have an acceptable solution; and they don’t. Yet, we are willing to elect one these people to the highest post in the land.
I see no possibility of swift and positive change with the cur
Today, I want to talk about the word “revolution.” I see the direction of our leaders and those who are poised to lead, resulting in revolution. Once more, please don’t jump to the conclusion that “revolution” is a poor choice. The American Revolution gave us this country, the next American Revolution may well be the one that takes it back.
Our forefathers were disadvantaged in their fight for civil justice, personal freedom and equality, as they had no Constitutional Rights as a framework on which to stand and were left with armed force as their alternative.
We are fortunate in that regard and need only to stand united in voice alone and simply demand a return to a government by and for the people under Constitutional law.
We must demand that campaign finance be reformed and that term limits be legislated; NOW. That our rising debt and endless unilateral wars be addressed; NOW. That our jobs flowing out and immigrants flowing in be stopped: NOW.
I see no possibility for positive change short of a unified and extremely vocal revolution. To expect our cur

Bravo Señor…great article!
Mike..
Now, you’re talking..!
All of our problems are political.. The only solution is political.. Brought to us by the best government money can buy..
But, I think there may be a better beginning.. First, we must demand an honest mainstream media.. People need the truth to be informed.. Only when we stop the daily propaganda posing as news, can people begin to be informed, and make better decisions.. WmA..
An honest media will not occur until an honest government is in place. Dr. Paul pointed this out over 10 years ago.
Media, like most businesses, operate for profit. Ratings rank high for producing their profit margins I might add.
Our government offers information (”leaks”) to the media on a regular basis; to be read exactly as written on the air. Any media company who attempts to ad lib or read a truth into the “leak” will not be given the next “leak” until all the other media companies have read theirs on air; Thereby creating profit loss for the player who chose not to play to government standards. I know that most people believe that media is a free press. They have the right to be a free press. The are not forced to play us all for fools. But when dollars figure into the mix, they chose, with rare exception, to play puppet for their elected officials.
Your last paragraph says it all, Mike. -bb
My friend Jerry Riley once said when listening to two high paid financial analysts debate a subject from opposite perspectives, “One of those guys is wrong. How would you like to be making that kind of money for being wrong?”
And so goes the news. One news report says that everything is just ducky and the other says at the same time that we are are all going to starve to death.
News is more of an entertainment vehicle than a factual rendition of the days events. That is why they report on Brittney Spears entering a drug recovery program far more often than reporting that America NEEDS to enter a debt recovery program.
We need to change some of the rules and most of the players, or we will never have a winning season for the Middle Class fans.
Forget about getting the media to be honest. The forth estate has long been controlled by the rich, just think of he Hearst newspaper empire and how he used it to control the nation to do his will.
The internet and sites like this give us a forum to communicate outside the “mainstream media”. It is are only hope! To bad we will probably be labeled as “kooks” as most free thinkers are.
Rod,
I’ll take my chances with the kooks.
Getting people to think and dropping truisms is the key. I don’t believe that I have one thing in my book that isn’t provable.
Who needs kooky ideas when the truth is this bazaar?
The truth may not always be pretty, but it is always the truth.
Looks like many are on the same sheet of music. We all have varying degrees of expertise and knowledge, but that just lends to the learning process for us all.
Are the people we are in touch with (friends, relatives, ex’s, etc) going to come around in time to help with our much needed revolution? I do not know. I hope so. But this site has been and could be a good breeding ground for some more top notch ideas that may help us out if our friends don’t come through. Kind of a continuing educational platform for you book, huh, Mike?
It is about time to begin to covey up with like thinking people. Many of my neighbors are very different from me, but most are in the same sack when it comes to our constitutional roots and beliefs. This will be a very valuable asset if the much needed revolution is ignored like the operation of our government is now. -bb
Hi Mike,
Your sentiments are being echoed on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal every morning. I tune into that program daily for the guests (some, that is) but especially the comments of the callers. Of course, they represent a fairly small segment of the population who turn away from the fluff of the network and most cable morning “news” shows because they’re paying close attention to what’s going on.
The second piece of good news is what hotrodinnoh referred to - more people turning to internet sources of information instead of mainstream media for their news, and especially for reasoned dialogue with others as they mull over what’s going on. I don’t think it’s possible to reform the mainstream media, but it is possible to promote its demise by simply ignoring it. Thankfully, more people seem to be doing just that.
An interesting article has been floating around several web sites entitled “The Guilded Age - Past and Present.” It’s available at TomDispatch.com if anyone’s interested in reading it. The author, Steve Fraser, ponders the differences in response to to the present “gilded age” from the the social activity that resisted the gross inequalities that existed in the late 19th century.
One factor that seems to be missing so far today has been collective social dialogue and action that resists the status quo, along with a predominant media that distracts or actively promotes the status quo.
I must be feeling unusually optimistic today, but forums like yours facilitate constructive collective dialogue and action. Also, what you describe as the Wednesday Afternoon Club, providing opportunities for face to face dialogue, has a potential for collective social action as well. While the Wednesday Afternoon Club is metaphorical, there may well be more interaction among neighbors as more become idle, and the realization that they are all in the same boat sinks in.
I really appreciate the tone of the comments on your site, Mike. I agree with Billyb about it being a good breeding ground for ideas. There may be vast differences in worldview among your readers and commenters, but the tone of interaction truly does provide the opportunity to learn from one another.
Kathy
Thanks both Kathy P and BB for your comments.
I always enjoy comments that have some substantive information that we can all ponder together.
I agree that the Wednesday Afternoon Club will become a powerful force as America’s workers are idled. More on that in my article today.
Ignoring the main stream news is in fact a way to lessen their impact on our thoughts and actions.
Common sense and facing stark reality has to be the basis of any long enduring solution.
